In the second quarter of 2025, the carpooling and ridesharing sector in the United Arab Emirates saw notable trends across the top five apps. Our analysis, based on data from Sensor Tower, provides insights into weekly downloads and active user metrics for these platforms.

Careem – rides, food & more experienced fluctuating weekly downloads, peaking at around 36.7K in mid-April before settling at approximately 31K by the end of June. Weekly active users remained robust throughout the quarter, with a peak of 1.09M in late April, gradually decreasing to 983K by the end of June.

Yango: taxi, food, delivery maintained a steady download rate, with a notable increase reaching 16.3K in the last week of June. Active users showed a consistent upward trend, climaxing at around 91.1K in mid-June, closing the quarter at 85.2K.

Bolt: Request a Ride saw a gradual increase in downloads, reaching a high of 16.5K in early June. Active users remained relatively stable, ranging from 88.7K to 102.8K throughout the quarter.

Uber - Request a ride experienced a varied download pattern, peaking at 11.2K at the end of April. Active user numbers were strong, with a peak of 182.4K in late April, and a slight decline to 129.5K by the end of the quarter.

Zed: Book your taxi ride showed a decline in downloads from 7.9K in late April to 5.5K by the end of June. Active users, however, demonstrated resilience, starting at 37.9K and ending at 34.6K.
